Cookie Policy
Learn how SkyKnet uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize you, remember your preferences, and analyze how our blockchain products and services are used.
SkyKnet, a DBA of Distributed Ledger Technologies Inc. ("SkyKnet," "we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our websites, use our products, or interact with our services. This Cookie Policy explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them. This policy applies to all SkyKnet products and services, including Knexcoin, KnexMail, Ayedex, KnexPay, KnexWallet, and Superknet.
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, which provide additional information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer, mobile device, or any other device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners to make their websites work, to work more efficiently, and to provide reporting and analytics information. A cookie typically contains the name of the domain from which it originated, the "lifetime" of the cookie (that is, how long it will remain on your device), and a randomly generated unique identifier.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, SkyKnet) are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies." Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website, such as analytics, interactive content, and advertising. The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.
In addition to cookies, we may use other similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, local storage objects, and session storage. These technologies are discussed in greater detail in subsequent sections of this policy.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for several important reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our websites and products to operate, and we refer to these as "essential" or "strictly necessary" cookies. Other cookies enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our websites. Third parties may also serve cookies through our websites for analytics, advertising, and other purposes. The specific types of first-party and third-party cookies served through our websites and the purposes they perform are described in detail below.
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following general purposes:
- Authentication and Security: To verify your account credentials, maintain session integrity, and protect against unauthorized access to your data and accounts.
- Preferences and Settings: To remember your language preferences, display settings, and other customization choices you have made across our products.
- Performance and Analytics: To understand how visitors interact with our websites, which pages are most popular, and how our products are used so that we can measure and improve performance.
- Functionality: To provide enhanced functionality and personalization, including remembering previously entered form data, preferred network configurations, and wallet connection states.
- Blockchain Operations: To cache blockchain network preferences, transaction history metadata, and node connection states required for the proper functioning of our decentralized applications.

3.4 Targeting / Advertising Cookies
These cookies are used to deliver advertisements more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the website operator's permission. They remember that you have visited a website, and this information is shared with other organizations such as advertisers. Quite often, targeting or advertising cookies will be linked to site functionality provided by the other organization.
At this time, SkyKnet does not use advertising cookies on its primary websites. However, certain third-party services integrated into our products may set their own cookies for advertising or targeting purposes. If we begin using advertising cookies in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and seek your consent where required by applicable law.
4. First-Party vs. Third-Party Cookies
First-party cookies are cookies that are set by SkyKnet directly. These cookies are used to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and gather analytics about your interaction with our websites. First-party cookies are typically more trusted because they originate from the site you are visiting and are subject to the privacy practices outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Third-party cookies are set by organizations other than SkyKnet. We use a limited number of third-party services that may place cookies on your device. These include Google Analytics for website usage analysis and, potentially, other service providers that enable specific product functionality. We carefully vet all third-party services and only work with providers whose data handling practices meet our standards for user privacy and data protection.
When third-party cookies are used, those third parties are responsible for their own cookies and you should refer to their privacy and cookie policies for information on how they use data collected through their cookies. We do not have access to or control over cookies placed by third parties.
5. Cookie Duration
Cookies can remain on your computer or mobile device for different periods of time. We use two categories based on their lifespan:
5.1 Session Cookies
Session cookies are temporary cookies that exist only for the duration of your browsing session. They are automatically deleted when you close your web browser. We use session cookies to maintain your login state, carry information across pages within our products, and ensure security during your visit. Session cookies are essential for the proper functioning of features like multi-step transactions in KnexPay or order placement on Ayedex.
5.2 Persistent Cookies
Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period of time specified in the cookie or until you manually delete them. We use persistent cookies to remember your preferences, recognize you when you return to our websites, and collect analytics data over time. The duration of persistent cookies varies depending on their purpose; for example, preference cookies may last up to one year, while analytics cookies set by Google may last up to two years. The exact duration for each cookie is listed in the tables above.
6. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"), to help us understand how users engage with our websites. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about your use of our websites, including your IP address. This information is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States and other countries.
Our Google Analytics tracking ID is G-CSZ00L6ZXV. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which is the latest version of Google's analytics platform. GA4 uses event-based data collection rather than session-based, providing more granular insights into user interactions.
Google Analytics helps us measure:
- The number of visitors to our websites and individual pages
- How visitors navigate through our websites (traffic sources, landing pages, exit pages)
- Time spent on specific pages and overall session duration
- Geographic distribution of our visitors (at the country and city level)
- Device types, operating systems, and browsers used to access our websites
- User engagement events such as clicks, scrolls, file downloads, and outbound link clicks
- Conversion events that help us understand how effectively our websites serve visitor needs
We have configured Google Analytics with the following privacy-enhancing settings:
- IP Anonymization: Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses by default, providing enhanced privacy for all visitors.
- Data Retention: We have set data retention to the minimum period necessary for our analytics purposes.
- Advertising Features: We have disabled Google Analytics advertising features, including remarketing and demographic reporting.
- Data Sharing: We have limited data sharing with Google to only what is necessary for the analytics service to function.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which prevents Google Analytics JavaScript from sharing information with Google Analytics about visit activity. The add-on is available for most modern browsers.
7. Third-Party Services & Cookies
In addition to Google Analytics, our websites and products may integrate with or link to the following third-party services, each of which may set their own cookies:
- Google Fonts: We load typefaces from Google Fonts, which may collect anonymized usage data. Google Fonts may record the CSS request, the IP address of the requesting device, and the referring page.
- Content Delivery Networks (CDNs): We use CDN services to deliver website assets quickly and reliably. These services may set performance-related cookies or use server logs that record your IP address and access patterns.
- Blockchain RPC Providers: Our decentralized applications connect to blockchain networks through Remote Procedure Call (RPC) providers. While these connections do not typically use cookies, they may log connection metadata such as IP addresses and request timestamps.
- Payment Processors: If you make purchases through KnexPay or other SkyKnet payment services, third-party payment processors may set their own cookies during the checkout process to prevent fraud and maintain transaction integrity.
- Email Service Providers: KnexMail integrates with email infrastructure providers that may use tracking technologies to monitor email deliverability and service performance.
Each third-party service has its own privacy and cookie policies, which govern how they use the data they collect. We encourage you to review these policies to understand how your information is handled by third parties.
8. Web Beacons & Pixel Tags
In addition to cookies, we may use web beacons (also known as "pixel tags," "clear GIFs," or "tracking pixels") on our websites and in our emails. A web beacon is a tiny, invisible graphic image — typically a one-pixel-by-one-pixel transparent image — that is embedded in a web page or email message. Web beacons are used to monitor user behavior without the user being aware of it.
We use web beacons for the following purposes:
- Email Analytics: To determine whether emails we send are opened, which links within emails are clicked, and when they are accessed. This helps us measure the effectiveness of our communications and tailor our messages to be more relevant.
- Website Analytics: To count the number of users who have visited certain pages and to generate statistics about how our websites are used. Web beacons may work in conjunction with cookies to provide a more complete picture of user behavior.
- Advertising Measurement: If we engage in advertising campaigns, web beacons may be used to determine how many times an advertisement is displayed and how effective it is at generating user interest.
Web beacons do not store information on your device in the way that cookies do. However, by working with cookies, they allow us to recognize you when you return to our websites and can track your activity across sessions. You can typically prevent web beacons from tracking your activity by configuring your email client to block images or by using browser extensions that block tracking technologies.
9. Local Storage & Session Storage
In addition to cookies, modern web browsers provide other mechanisms for storing data locally on your device. Our websites and products may use the following browser storage technologies:
9.1 Local Storage
HTML5 Local Storage allows us to store data in your browser that persists even after you close the browser window. Unlike cookies, local storage data is not sent to the server with every HTTP request, making it more efficient for storing larger amounts of data. We use local storage to store application state information, user preferences, cached content that improves loading performance, and interface customization settings.
9.2 Session Storage
HTML5 Session Storage is similar to local storage but is limited to a single browser tab or window and is automatically cleared when that tab or window is closed. We use session storage for temporary data that is needed only during your current interaction, such as form data you have entered but not yet submitted, multi-step workflow progress, temporary transaction data during the checkout or transfer process, and page navigation history within single-page applications.
You can view, modify, or delete local storage and session storage data through your browser's developer tools. Clearing your browser data will also remove locally stored information. Please note that deleting this data may affect the functionality of our products and may require you to re-enter preferences or re-authenticate.
10. Blockchain-Specific Storage
Given the nature of our blockchain and cryptocurrency products, we use certain specialized storage mechanisms that are unique to decentralized applications:
10.1 Wallet Connection Data
When you connect a cryptocurrency wallet (such as through KnexWallet or when using Ayedex), we may store wallet connection metadata in your browser's local storage. This includes the wallet provider type, the public wallet address you have connected (which is already publicly visible on the blockchain), and your connection preferences. We never store private keys, seed phrases, or any sensitive wallet credentials in cookies, local storage, or any other client-side storage mechanism.
10.2 Transaction Cache
To improve performance and reduce redundant blockchain queries, our products may temporarily cache transaction data and token balances in your browser's local storage or session storage. This cached data is derived entirely from publicly available blockchain information and is used solely to improve the speed and responsiveness of our interfaces. Cached transaction data is periodically refreshed and can be cleared at any time without affecting your actual blockchain assets or transaction history.
10.3 Network Preferences
Our products support multiple blockchain networks and configurations. We store your network preferences — such as your selected chain, custom RPC endpoints, gas price preferences, and slippage tolerance settings — in local storage so that these settings persist across sessions. This ensures a consistent experience every time you return to our products without having to reconfigure network settings.
11. How to Control Cookies
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences in several ways. Please note that if you choose to block or delete cookies, some features of our websites and products may not function properly.
11.1 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Below are instructions for managing cookies in the most popular browsers:
- Google Chrome: Click the three-dot menu in the upper right corner, go to Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and other site data (or Third-party cookies in newer versions). From here you can block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or clear cookies when you close the browser. You can also manage exceptions for specific sites. Alternatively, type
chrome://settings/cookiesinto the address bar. - Mozilla Firefox: Click the three-line menu, go to Settings, then Privacy & Security. Under Enhanced Tracking Protection, you can choose Standard, Strict, or Custom protection levels. Custom mode allows you to specifically control cookies, tracking content, cryptominers, and fingerprinters. You can also manage individual cookies by clicking Manage Data under Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari: Go to Safari in the menu bar, then Preferences (or Settings on newer versions), then the Privacy tab. You can block all cookies, prevent cross-site tracking, or manage website data to remove cookies from specific sites. Safari also includes Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP), which automatically limits third-party cookie tracking.
- Microsoft Edge: Click the three-dot menu, go to Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data. You can block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or clear cookies when the browser is closed. You can also add specific sites to allow or block lists for fine-grained control.
11.2 Mobile Devices
On mobile devices, you can manage cookies through your mobile browser settings. On iOS, go to Settings, then Safari, and use the options under Privacy & Security. On Android, open your browser app, access its settings menu, and look for Privacy or Cookies options. Note that the exact steps may vary depending on your device manufacturer and browser version.
11.3 Third-Party Opt-Out Tools
In addition to browser-level controls, you can use third-party tools to manage cookies and tracking across multiple websites:
- Google Analytics Opt-Out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics data collection.
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): Visit the NAI's opt-out page to manage cookies from member advertising networks.
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA): Use the DAA's WebChoices tool to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.
- European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA): If you are in the EU, visit the Your Online Choices website to manage your advertising cookie preferences.
12. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers offer a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") signal that sends a request to websites indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. At this time, there is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and the technology and policy landscape around DNT continues to evolve.
Currently, our websites do not respond to DNT signals in a standardized way. However, you can use the other cookie control mechanisms described in this policy (browser settings, opt-out tools, and consent preferences) to manage your tracking preferences. We will continue to monitor developments in DNT technology and update our practices accordingly if a uniform standard is adopted.
13. Cookie Consent & Your Choices
When you first visit our websites, you may be presented with a cookie consent banner or dialog that allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the website cannot be disabled, as they are required for basic functionality such as security, authentication, and session management.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by:
- Adjusting your browser settings as described in Section 11 above
- Using the cookie preference controls available on our websites (if a consent management tool is displayed)
- Clearing your cookies and revisiting our websites, which will trigger a new consent prompt
- Contacting us at hello@skyknet.com to request changes to your consent preferences
Please note that withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew your consent. Additionally, it does not affect processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
14. Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you choose to disable or delete cookies, some parts of our websites and products may not function properly. Specifically:
- Authentication: You may be required to log in each time you visit our products, as session cookies will not persist your authentication state.
- Preferences: Your language, theme, currency, and network preferences may not be remembered, requiring you to reconfigure settings on each visit.
- Wallet Connections: If you clear local storage, you may need to reconnect your cryptocurrency wallet each time you use Ayedex, KnexWallet, or KnexPay.
- Transaction History: Cached transaction data and recent address lists may be lost, requiring fresh queries to the blockchain on each visit, which may result in slower loading times.
- Performance: Without performance cookies, we may be unable to identify and resolve issues that affect your experience with our products.
- Security Features: Certain security features, such as device recognition for two-factor authentication, may be impacted, potentially resulting in additional verification steps on each login.
We strongly recommend keeping essential cookies enabled to ensure the best possible experience when using SkyKnet products and services. You can selectively disable non-essential cookies (such as analytics and functional cookies) while keeping essential cookies active.
15. Children's Privacy
Our websites and products are not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly use cookies or similar technologies to collect information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information through cookies from a child under 18, we will take immediate steps to delete that information. If you believe we have inadvertently collected cookie data from a child, please contact us at hello@skyknet.com so that we can promptly address the issue.
16. International Users
SkyKnet operates globally, and users from different jurisdictions may be subject to different cookie and data protection regulations. This section outlines how we address the requirements of major international privacy frameworks.
16.1 European Union — GDPR & ePrivacy Directive
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive (often referred to as the "Cookie Law") regarding cookies and similar technologies.
Under these regulations:
- We will obtain your explicit consent before placing any non-essential cookies on your device.
- Essential cookies may be placed without consent, as they are necessary for the provision of the service you have requested.
- You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, and we will provide clear mechanisms for doing so.
- We will provide clear and comprehensive information about the cookies we use before asking for your consent.
- We will not use cookie walls that force you to accept cookies in order to access our websites.
- Your consent preferences will be stored and honored for a reasonable period, after which we may ask you to renew your consent.
The legal basis for our use of essential cookies is our legitimate interest in providing a secure, functional website. For non-essential cookies, the legal basis is your informed consent. For more information about your data protection rights under the GDPR, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
16.2 California — CCPA / CPRA
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) regarding the use of cookies and tracking technologies. Specifically:
- Right to Know: You have the right to know what personal information is collected through cookies and other tracking technologies, and how it is used and shared.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal information collected through cookies, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out: If we sell or share personal information collected through cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising, you have the right to opt out. At this time, SkyKnet does not sell personal information or use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights, including by charging different prices, providing different quality of service, or denying you service.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@skyknet.com.
16.3 Other Jurisdictions
We strive to comply with all applicable cookie and data protection laws worldwide. If you are located in a jurisdiction with specific requirements regarding cookies or tracking technologies (such as Brazil's LGPD, Canada's PIPEDA, Australia's Privacy Act, or Japan's APPI), we will endeavor to comply with those requirements. If you have questions about how we handle cookie-related data in your jurisdiction, please contact us at the email address provided below.
17. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. When we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. In some cases, we may also provide additional notice, such as posting a prominent notice on our website or sending you a notification.
We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies and related technologies. Your continued use of our websites and products after any changes to this Cookie Policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy. If a change materially affects the way we use cookies or reduces your rights, we will seek your renewed consent where required by applicable law.
